Introduction

The gift of Children

Psalm 127:3 (NKJV)
3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward.

Polished but not perfect.

“A mother” desperate cry.

Matthew 15:22-24 (NKJV)
22 And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.”
23 But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, “Send her away, for she cries out after us.”
24 But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

Matthew 15:26-27 (NKJV)
26 But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.”
27 And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”

Jesus answered and said to her “Oh, woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire” and her daughter was healed from that very hour.

A mother’s heart

  • Sacrificial love
  • Persistent faith

Persistent faith

Joni Eareckson Tada said “I don’t always know the whys, but I know who holds the answer. And I can wait.”

Have faith in God.

Hebrews 4:16 (NKJV)
16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

We need Jesus in our home

Pray!

Pray everyday…………..

  • The value of consistent prayer is not that, He will hear us. But that we will ehar him! – WilliamMcgill
  • Prayer may not change things for you, but it sure changes you for things.”  Samuel M. Shoemaker.

Our children need their mothers to pray for them everyday.

Living in perilous times.

  • Mother is your child well?

2 Timothy 3:1-5 (NKJV)
1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:
2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good,
4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

Jesus prayed…..

  • John 17 – Jesus longest prayer in the Bible.

Jesus prayed for himself….

We must pray

  • Pray for ourselves then for others

Praying is discipline.

6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
