FCT CONFESSION BOOKLET

Introduction

A man asked Jesus which is the 1st commandment of all. Jesus answered that the 1st  of all the commandments is to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength.(Mark 12:29-31)

How does one begin to love God in such a way? How many times have we purposed in our hearts to do the things that please God, but yet time and again we fail?

There is good news for all who desire to live a life that is pleasing to God. The Apostle Paul writes in

Philippians 1:6– “ being confident of this very thing, that He who has began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ”

God loves us and His greatest pleasure is to see us succeed in everything that He has planned for us. The key to our success is to come into agreement with His plans for us and be willing to do His will.

God’s plans and purposes are made known to us in His written Word – The Bible.

God’s Word is powerful, the earth and all creation are formed by God speaking it into existence (Genesis 1). Jesus says  in John 15:7 “ you abide in me and MY WORDS ABIDE IN YOU, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

Notice it says “MY WORDS ABIDE IN YOU.” God’s word must remain in us.

How does the Word of God remain inside of us? The key is in the daily Confession and Meditation of God’s Word .God told Joshua that in order for him to be prosperous

And successful he must confess and meditate upon His Law –which is His Word day and night.

Joshua 1:8 – This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous and then you will have good success.

When we begin to confess and meditate upon God’s Word, the Word of God will then be hidden inside of us and we will then begin to do and act according to God’s Word.

We will slowly but surely begin to be transformed by the Word of God.

Psalm 119:11 – Your Word I have hidden in my heart that I might not sin

Against You.

Romans 12:2 – Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

The importance of confession

The power of our confessions must not be taken lightly.

What comes out of our mouth is important. Proverbs 18:21 – says this “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”

Our confessions will reveal the thoughts and images that we have, it also reveals whether we believe or doubt God.

Roman 10:10 – says “For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with

the mouth confession is made to salvation”

William Barclay excellently expressed confession as –

“A man’s words are nothing more than the overflow of what is in his heart”

Nothing pleases God more than to hear His children confessing the Word of God as an expression of their faith in Him. The Word of God is God’s will for our lives and

Our faith in God must be based on His Word. The confession of God’s Word daily in our lives will strengthen our faith to receive from God .

God watches over His Word to perform it – Ezekiel 12:25 – “For I am the Lord. I speak, and the word which I speak will come to pass. …….I WILL SAY THE WORD AND PERFORM IT” says the Lord God’.

This booklet is designed to help Christians come into agreement with the Word of God concerning their lives by confessing and meditating upon the scriptures. God’s

Word holds His promises to His children. As you meditate on God’s Word, the reality of all He wants to give you will saturate your spirit. This will give you confidence to believe and claim each promise (Word) as your own.

DILIGENCE IS A MUST

As in all success, diligence is a must. We must be diligent in the confession and meditation of the Word of God. Do set aside time daily to confess the scriptures aloud. This time of confessing the Word is an addition to the time that we spend in reading the Word, praying and worshipping God in our daily devotion.

Be in faith and expect to see changes and miracles happening in your life -

“for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” {Hebrew 11:6}

SPIRITUAL GROWTH

I am redeemed – I am bought with a price, with His precious blood. I am valuable to God and I am one in whom God has an inheritance. I am forgiven, made clean and reconciled to God. I am saved by the gospel, born again. I’m incorruptible seed, a new creation in Christ. I am of God, complete in Christ. One with Him, I am free from the control of men and from the law of sin and death. Christ has set me free from the curse of the law. Yes, I am free indeed. God has called me according to His purpose. I am called into fellowship, into relationship, with Jesus. Peace, liberty and God’s glory are my inheritance now. I am God’s field, He is cultivating my life. I am God’s building, the temple of the Lord in whom the Holy Spirit lives. I am a branch connected to the vine; His life flows through me. The word of God abides in me. I am an epistle, a letter of Christ, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God. My life is not my own; I am a servant of God.

The Father shares His plans and secrets with me because I am a friend of God. I am part of the body of Christ. In Christ Jesus. I am also one of His saints. I am a fellow citizen with all the saints in the kingdom of God. I am a stranger to this world, a pilgrim just passing through. I am a bold witness for Christ because He has made me righteous. United to Him in love, I am the bride of Jesus Christ. As a minister of the gospel of Christ, I am jealous for the saints with a godly jealously. I am part of a chosen generation, a royal priesthood. I am a citizen of a holy nation and one of His own special people. I am heir of God and a joint heir with Christ Jesus. As a member of God’s family, I am also Abraham’s seed and an heir according to the promises made to Abraham. I am a member of the household of God. As a child of  the Most High God, I am lead by His Spirit. I am a child of the light, a child of the day. I am called to proclaim the praises of Him who called me out of darkness into His marvellous light. With Christ’s light in me, I am light of the world. My life brings divine flavour wherever I go for I am the salt of the earth. God has chosen me to be one of His own; Jesus has embraced me as His disciple. In His word, God has called me a priest and a king. With that kingly anointing, I enforce God’s will on earth. I am an ambassador, one of Christ’s representatives, in this world. As an intercessor and watchman for the Lord, I am seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. I am blessed in the city and in the country. My children are blessed too. I am blessed in all t hat I put my hands to.  I am blessed when I come in and when I go out. The Lord covers and protects me – I am invisible to my enemies. I am above and not beneath, the head and not the tail. God has called me to be a lender and not a borrower for He has freely given me all things through Christ. In Him I am rich. Filled with His joy, peace, patience and love, I freely love others. His kindness and goodness work powerfully through me. I am one who has faith. I am one who has gentleness and self control. The fruit of the Spirit are displayed in my life. I am baptised in the Holy Spirit and gifted with powerful gifts from heaven. As a believer in Jesus Christ, I cast out demons in Jesus name. I am one who speaks with new tongues, God-given languages. According to God’s word, I am one who has power over serpents and every work of the enemy; I one who cannot be poisoned or harmed. As God’s ambassador, I am one who lays hands on the sickness and disease because I am God’s child. I am strong in the Lord, having overcome the wicked one and the world. I am endued with power from on high.

Thank you Lord Jesus, Amen.

FAITH

Faith is believing – to have faith in God is to believe In Him and His word.

John 1:12-13

I have received Jesus as my own Lord and personal Savior.  Have put my complete trust and confidence in His name. I have welcomed Him into my heart and have given Him free reign over my life.

He, in turn, has given me the right and the privilege to become an actual son/daughter of God. I have been born of God through spiritual regeneration. I was born as out of the womb of the Spirit through the living Word. I am a genuine son/daughter of Almighty God!

John 20-27-31

I am not filled with doubt and unbelief, but with steadfast faith. Jesus is my Lord, my friend and my God, and though I have never seen Him (physically) or touched Him (physically), I believe in Him and I am blessed by, in and through Him. The Word has been given to me so that I may believe that Jesus is the Christ. Through my believing, and the confession of my faith, I have received eternal life.

Faith is an Attitude:

Gal. 5:22-25

I am a true branch of the Vine. Because of this, the fruit produced by my spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self control. As a born again child of God, I have been crucified with Christ. My old sinful nature, with its passions and desires, died with him on the cross and I now live by my recreated spirit, as led by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, as I live by my spirit, my conduct will reflect what my spirit desires.

Mark 11:22-25

I am constantly functioning in God like faith. God has created me as a faith being. My words bring into existence whatever I am believing for. If I command a mountain (a formidable circumstance or barrier) to be removed and cast into the sea, and have no doubt that it will happen, it will happen. Everything that I believe with my heart and speak from my mouth, within the boundaries of God’s Word, becomes reality for me. Whatever I ask for in prayer, if I believe I have received it, I will have it. I understand that un forgiveness and strife bring cancellation to what I am praying for. Therefore, I refuse to harbour them in my life. I continually remember my own frame, all that God has forgiven me of, and that I have no right to withhold grace from others when I myself walk into it so freely.

Measure of faith:

Romans 12:1-3

In view of God’s mercy, I dedicate my body as a living sacrifice, holy and well pleasing to Him. This is my spiritual worship. I follow the ways of the spirit as I am led by the Holy Spirit. I do not conform to the ways of the world, but am transformed by the renewing of my mind so that I may demonstrate the good, acceptable and perfect will of God.

I stand by God’s grace alone. I do not esteem myself more highly than I should, for I know that in and of myself I am nothing. Rather, I think of myself with sober judgment. I know that my value in the sight of God is inestimable and that He has given me the measure of faith to put me over un this life. However, I do not forget that all I have,  I have been given. I am totally, completely and joyfully dependent upon my God.

Strong faith is Acting faith:

Col. 2:6-7

I live my life in Jesus in the exact same way in which I received Him: by faith. I am rooted, built up and strengthened in my faith through sound teaching, and the fruit that is produced causes a flood of praise and thanksgiving to flow forth from within me.

1 Peter 1:7

My faith is precious to me – a commodity of greater worth than gold. Like gold, it is proved genuine when I am tested by trials and tribulations of every kind. But unlike gold, which perishes even when refined, my faith shall endure in abundant production and will result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus returns.

Hebrews 11:1

My faith is the very substance of the things that I hope for. It is the certainty that what I do not see will soon be manifested in my life.

Hebrews 11:6

I know that without faith it is impossible for me to please God. In order for me to draw near to Him, I must first believe that He exists, and then that He will reward me as I diligently seek Him.

John 11:40-42

I believe and trust in the name of Jesus: therefore

I will see the glory of God manifested in my life. My Father always listens to and entertains my prayers. He is more than willing to honour His Word on my behalf and grant any petition I may have that is in line with it.

Mark 9:23

I believe in God’s power and ability within me. Therefore, all things are possible for me.

 HEALING

Near my dwelling. For You have given your angels

have no power over me. I am forgiven and free from

sin and guilt. I am dead to sin and alive unto

righteousness. (Col. 1:21-22)

and I say so. I am redeemed of the Lord.

     (Psalm 107:2)

promise of the Spirit through faith.

(Galatians 3:13-14)

I have wounded them, so that they were not able to rise; they have fallen under my feet. For You have armed me with strength for the battle; You have subdued under me those who rose up against me." (Psalm 18:32,37)
